Roger L. Stevens will be presenting David Pownall's Master Class at the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theatre from Sept. 6-Oct. 20. St in the Kremlin in 1948, the cat offour is made up of Stalin, Shostaskovich, Prokofiev and Marshall Zhandov. Currently in rehearsal, David Trainer is directing George Dzundza, Werner Klemperer, Michael Zaslow and Richard Latessa in these roles. This will be the Broadway debut for Pownall whose Livingston and Sechele was an Off Broadway hit at the Quaigh in 1983. John Osborne's A Patriot For Me, a recent hit at the Chichester Theatre and London's West End starring Alan Bates, will now resurface at the Ahmanson Theatre is Los Angeles. Produced by Robert Fryer, the revival stars Bates along with June Ritchie and George Rose. Also from London, Ronald Eyre again directs a cast featuring David Yelland, Charles Shaughnessy, Nicholas Gecks, David King, Kelsey Grammer, Anthony Head, Jo Webster, Angela Down, Paul Carleton, Bruce French, George Murcell and Harry Andrews. The drama, about the last days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, was controversial in the '60s because of its drag ball. It is targeted to open in New York during Christmas week.
