Before joining he cast of *Manchlid* as the ex-wife of Nigel Havers's Terry, she has enjoyed major roles in series including *Minder* (Thames Television), *Doctor Who* (BBC), *Inspector Morse* (ITV), *All Creatures Great and Small* (BBC), *Casualty* (BBC), *Boon* (ITV), *Drop the Dead Donkey* (Channel Four) and, most recently, *Jonathan Creek* (BBC). Christine has also appeared in the television mini-series *London Embassy*, *The Bretts* and Catherine Cookson's *The Glass Virgin*. FRANCES BARBER (Elizabeth): Over the last three decades, acclaimed actress Frances Barber has enjoyed a brilliant career in film, television and theatre. Before joining the cast of *Manchild* as the ex-wife of Anthony Head's James, Frances was busy filming a number of feature films, including *La Sirene Rouge* (2002), *24 Heures de la Vie d'Une Femme*, *Flyfishing*, *Shiner*, *The Wrong Blonde*, *Still Crazy*, and *Photographing Fairies*. Frances also played Rosie in *Sammy and Rosie Get Laid* and Leonie Orton in *Prick Up Your Years*. She also appeared in *Castaway.* Her most recent television credits include *The Gentleman Thief*, *Love in a Cold Climate* and *Real Women*. Frances has made other notable performances in *This is David Lander*, *Red Dwarf*, *Poirot*, *Inspector Morse*, *Murder Most Horrid* and *Dalziel and Pascoe*. On stage, Frances appeared in *Closer to Heaven* at the Arts Theatre (2001), and starred as Anna in *Closer* at the Lyric Theatre (1998). WRITER NICK FISHER Multi-talented journalist, author, presenter and scriptwriter Nick Fisher is also widely recognised as an "Agony Uncle" and a frank spokesman on teenage sexual matters. A freelance journalist for 16 years, Nick has written for a huge range of publications. He has also appeared on *Big Breakfast*, *Breakfast With Frost*, *Behind the Headlines*, *40 Minutes*, *The Time*, *The Place*, *Kilroy*, *Today* and *Genderquake.* For television, Nick has written for popular series such as *Birds of a Feather* (BBC), *One Hour With Jonathan Ross* (Channel Four), *The Lodge* (ITV), *Cluedo* (ITV), *Children's Ward* (ITV), *Cheerleaders* (Carlton) and *Footballer's Wives* (BBC). As programme devisor and presenter, Nick has worked on *It's Not Just Saturday* (ITV) and *Dear Nick* (ITV). Nick has been the scriptwriter on a number of films, including *Virtual Sexuality*, *French Exchange*, *9 Lives* and *Home and Away - The Movie*. He has also written a number of books for teens, including *The Complete Guide to Kissing*, *Your Pocket Guide to Sex*, *Living with a Willy*, *Boys About Boys* and *Inside Men's Minds*. Nick presents a weekly radio show on BBC Radio Five Live, *Dirty Tackle*, a fishing and travel programme which won the Bronze Sony Award in the Magazine Show category in 2000. He is a guest contributor/presenter on other radio shows including *Anderson Country*, *In the Psychiatrist's Chair*, *Home Front (BBC Radio Four), *Dilemmas*, *Vibe!*, *Blue Skies* (BBC Radio Five Live) and *The Edge* (BBC World Service). Nick has also consulted and narrated on a number of documentaries including *The X-Files* (Channel Four), *Confidence Lab* (BBC) and *Ultimate Killers* (BBC). In 1997, Nick was Launch Consultant and Contributing Editor for Men's Health magazine, as well as Consultant Editor for the launch of an innovative online service by Microsoft. Away from television and film, Nick was Advisor to the All Party Committee on Parenting in the House of Lords (1994), a sex education Advisor for the Hampshire Health Authority (1995), and Advisor on the issue of teen suicide for the West Sussex Health Authority (1995), a campaigner for the QUIT Anti-Smoking Campaign (1995) and he was invited to advise the Chief Medical Officer on the Health of the Young Nation Policy (1996). DIRECTOR DAVID EVANS David graduated from the Bournemouth and Poole Film School before starting his career as the assistant producer on the BAFTA-winning documentary *Angela Carter's Curious Room*. David then worked on the BBC series *Omnibus* between the years of 1989-1992 and, in the following year, he worked on *The Late Show* for BBC2 and the *Big Science* documentaries for BBC1 and BBC2. Other television credits include *Hazel's Night*, *The Reunion*, *A Drowning Silence*, *Common as Much*, *Band of Gold*, *Our Boy* and *Passion Killer*. David also directed the feature film *Fever Pitch*, starring Colin Firth. PRODUCER SOPHIE CLARKE-JERVOISE As Editor of BBC Comedy, Sophie commissioned Nick Fisher's original *Manchild* script which she then produced as a pilot in January 2001. The series was then commissioned by Jane Root for BBC2. Since joining the BBC two years ago, Sophie has been responsible for shows including *Two Pints of Lager*; *'orrible*; *World of Pub*; *Office Gossip*; and *Life as We Know It*. Sophie has also worked as an independent producer responsible for such series as *Murder Most Horrid* for TalkBack Productions; *Harry Enfield and Chums* for Tiger Aspect (BAFTA-nominated and winner of the Silver Rose at Montreux); *My Wonderful Life* for Granada Television; *Sex and Chocolate*, a BBC Screen One starring Dawn French; *Smith and Jones* for TalkBack Productions; and *Blackadder Back and Forth* for Tiger Aspect. Her other credits include *Bicycle Thieves* for Channel Four and *Brooms* - the Oscar- nominated short film by performers Stomp. CO-PRODUCER PETER THORNTON Peter was Head of Animation for series 5-8 of *Spitting Image* (ITV) and production manager on Nick Park's animation *The Wrong Trousers* which won both an Oscar and a BAFTA.
