Also at Chichester is Keith Baxter's boldly atmospheric 
production of Patrick Hamilton's *Rope* (Minerva).

Inspired by the notorious Leopold and Loeb case, the play 
(written in 1929) is a psychological thriller in which two 
privileged young men (John Barrowman and Alexis Denisof) 
commit the "perfect" murder.

They are tumbled by a cynical Anthony Head who gives the 
best performance in an engrossing evening.
