South Wales Echo (Cardiff), 19 February 2002. "What to watch: Haver-ing a fun time." ----------------------------------------------------------- It's time to get all revved up for BBC2's latest comedy drama, *Manchild.* Nigel Havers displays his usual charm and charisma as a vain 40-something male hellbent on reliving his youth. He's vain, he rides a motorbike, just the sort of thing he reckons will turn him into a babe magnet. But there's no escaping his age - you know, the ex-wife, the grown-up children... It's a comedy which definitely owes something to *Sex and the City*. As with *City*'s Carrie, Nigel moves the action along in voiceover. The action is, of course, trying to attract any mini-skirted young thing who might be attracted to an older man's suave good looks - and deep pockets! *Buffy*'s Anthony Head, *Rising Damp*'s Don Warrington and Ray Burdis play Nigel's mates, who are suffering from growing pains too. Nick Fisher's clever script means we actually find these men both amusingly ridiculous and sympathetic. ----------------------------------------------------------- Bentley's Bedlam http://www.BetsyDa.com/bedlam.html This website is for information and entertainment purposes only and is not intended to infringe on copyrights held by others.
