The Times, November 10, 1994 ----------------------------------------------------------- The team responsible for factions in the Birmingham pub bombings and the Beirut hostages puts Lord Lucan in an imaginary dock and invites a jury of real people to give its verdict. Last week's BBC contribution to the Lucanfest suggested that if he did come to trial the prosecution would not have a leg to stand on. This evidence presented to this might-have-been court tends to point the other way. At any rate Lucan's explanation of how he did not kill his nanny, and did not almost murder his wife as well, seems more ingenious than plausible. But it is put with force in a very watchable drama that manages to put a fresh slan on familiar material. The Lucans are persuasively impersonated by Julian Wadham and Lynsey Baxter. ----------------------------------------------------------- Bentley's Bedlam http://www.BetsyDa.com/bedlam.html This website is for information and entertainment purposes only and is not intended to infringe on copyrights held by others.
