Parade Magazine, Walter Scott's Personality Parade, June 7, 1998 Q: Is the actor who plays the Watcher on Buffy the Vampire Slayer the same one who, years ago, was the charming next-door neighbor in those commercials for Taster's Choice? A: Yes. Anthony Stewart Head, 43, was a moderately successful London stage actor in 1987 when Taster's Choice (called Gold Blend in England) tapped him for its coffee commercials, which brought him to attention of Hollywood. "It changed my life," he tell us. Head now divides his time between California, where he plays Giles the Watcher--Buffy's trainer, protector and confidant in the TV series--and England, where he lives with his longtime companion, Sarah Fisher, 33, and their daughters, Emily, 9, and Daisy, 7. With Buffy on summer hiatus, Head is working on a rock musical that he hopes will become an animated feature.
