Free books yesterday, banned books today.

The American Library Association's Banned Books Week page has lists of banned and challenged books and more info, quotes, and links on the subject.

The Online Books Page has a page about censorship and banned books. Several good links, including one to a page about the history of Shakespeare censorship.

Today's topic was inspired by a book we just got at the library: "Fancy Coffins to Make Yourself," by Dale Power.

from Goblin Hollow, instructions for three prop coffins: standard cardboard, good quality wooden, and top of the line wooden.

 Directions for another prop coffin.

Photographs of the construction of the coffin used by Sins O' The Flesh, the Los Angeles Rocky Horror Picture Show cast.

Four entries today, to make up for the lack of entries yesterday.

Superbad. I'd try to explain it, but I can't. It's an experience.

On the subject of bad, here are some Bad Human Factors Designs.

More bad stuff: the Bad Science site is not about pseudo-science but about "well understood phenomena which are persistently presented incorrectly by teachers and writers."

A follow-up to the January 25 BentleyBlog entry about Fat Chuck's Corrupt CDs. Here's an article from the January 31 "SF Gate" about when is a CD not a CD.

The Dull Men's Club, "where Dull Men can share thoughts and experiences, free from pressures to be "in and trendy," to enjoy instead the simple, ordinary things of everyday life." I love the list of links. (I don't think I want to know what that says about me.)

Did you know that 1729 is not a dull number? Me, neither.

On Groundhog Day (February 2), my family traditionally eats sausage. (Ground hog. Get it? Get it? Hey, blame my great-grandmother--she started the tradition.)

Sausage recipes from the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council.

Make your own sausage: recipes from Sausagemania and from the Paleolithic Eating Support List's Recipe Collection.
